About Our Founder

During her undergraduate training at the University of California at Irvine, Terica Kindred benefited from participation in several minority student programs offering scholarships and leadership training opportunities.  Upon graduation, Ms. Kindred launched her career with the consulting division of Deloitte.  She actively engaged in diversity recruitment efforts and observed that contrary to her own experience, a significant number of minority student candidates did not meet the standards or expectations of corporate recruiters.

Her observations concluded that the vast majority of minority students did not have the benefit of interacting with positive career role models that would provide appropriate guidance and preparation.  As a result these students did not possess the qualities corporate recruiters desired in graduating students.

To reverse this trend, Plan 4 Success will carefully guide students in a structured program to develop the appropriate background that appeals to corporate recruiters and hiring managers.  This preparation is conducted through corporate member representatives, career coaches and other volunteers.  Students are guided in developing comprehensive professional skill competencies that include leadership development, professional communication skills, understanding corporate cultural, relevant internship experiences, effective networking skills, developing a professional portfolio, resume writing and interviewing skills.

Although Ms. Kindred was successful in launching her own professional career with the consulting division of Deloitte, she recognized the need for a comprehensive program that would fill the gaps in a student's qualifications to become prepared and qualified for professional career entry positions.

Her concept resulted in the development of Plan 4 Success, a new non-profit organization with a mission to effectively guide minority students to achieve their goals through role models sharing similar career goals.

Ms. Kindred has invested her own seed  money to fund the initial development of Plan 4 Success.  A strategic component to advancing the mission of Plan 4 Success is cultivating partnerships with the corporate sector, which will mutually benefit from this endeavor.
